Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) have teamed up with Lifetime Lab to provide a series of interactive hands-on energy workshops for Cork primary schools pupils during the first school term.
There are two workshops on offer
Senior Energy Workshops aimed at 3rd to 6th class pupils and commence with a short presentation with the aid of 3 colourful display panels and cover the topics of energy sources, climate change, CO2 and what we as individuals can do to reduce the amount of energy we use. This is followed by some fun energy experiments. For example, did you know you can make a battery out of a lemon? After that, students play Guzzler's Energy Challenge, where the aim of the game is to collect as many energy points as possible - and avoid the dreaded Sin Bin!
Junior Energy Workshops Join Guzzler the puppet and help him to stop wasting so much energy! This workshop is based on SEAI’s Guzzler books. Children will learn about energy efficiency and environmental awareness through participation in various experiments and activities. Suitable for senior infants, 1st and 2nd class pupils.
