Guts of Digestion Workshops

Explore the digestive system in an interactive, hands-on workshop and learn how the food we eat is broken down to give us nutrients and energy.Aimed at 5th/6th class student the workshop demonstrates how the mechanical actions of crushing and churning, along with chemicals such as enzymes, bile and acid breakdown your food.See how nutrients and water are absorbed through the intestine wall and the solid waste is pushed out of your body.

Teacher notes;

• One class only per workshop
• Workshops are free of charge
• Times available 10.00am and 11.30am
• April 1st 2009
• Session lasts approx  60mins
• We request that accompanying teacher remain with class during workshop
