Tartu University Academic Female Choir visit Lifetime Lab

Lifetime Lab was delighted to welcome the Tartu University Academic Female Choir from Estonia as part of the 54th Cork International Choral Festival.

Tartu University Academic Female Choir was founded in 1945 by R. Ritsing. Since 2005, Triin Koch has been the chief conductor of the choir. The majority of the 50 choir members are students and graduates of Tartu University. The choir performs music from different time periods and countries – ranging from classical to modern. A special emphasis in the repertoire is put on Estonian composers such as Veljo Tormis, Ester Mägi, Arvo Pärt etc. The choir has successfully taken part in a large number of international and national choir competitions, achieving good results in competitions like Florilege de Tours (France 1992), Franz Schubert Chorwettbewerb (Austria 1996), Fleischmann competition Cork (Ireland 1997), International Choir Contest of Flanders-Maasmechelen (Belgium 2001), and Estonian national choir contests (2004, 2005).
