2.00pm -6.00pm Saturday August 25th
As Part of Heritage week, Lifetime Lab will host a “Steam Open Day” on Saturday August 25th. Admission is free and both children and adults can learn about the role of steam power in supplying water to the people of Cork. During the day, volunteers will help visitors to learn about how steam power was involved in this process. Visitors will also be able to explore the modern interactive exhibition on the theme of water, waste and energy located in the visitor centre as well as relax in the coffee dock and playground. Halfway Vintage Club will kindly show off a working steam engine and miniature working models will be displayed by local enthusiast John Cahill.
