Cork's Lifetime Lab wins prestigious International Award

Lifetime Lab has scooped a major international award for Corporate Social Responsibility.

Lifetime Lab received the prestigious IVCA Clarion Award at a ceremony at BAFTA's headquarters in London this week for its positive contribution to modern society through the development of a unique concept of a permanent interactive educational exhibition. The facility was designed by a multi-disciplinary team led by PMG and the interactive units, the subject of the Awards, were designed by London consultants, Imagination.

"Once more the city of Cork is proud to be recognised as Ireland's Eco-City", said Michael O'Brien, Project Manager, Cork City Council. "Lifetime Lab is a perfect example of our strong efforts to combine the preservation of Cork's architectural and industrial heritage with communicating the vision of a sustainable lifestyle to young and old alike".

Ursula Morrish, Account Director, Imagination, who headed up the project, said of the Award "The challenge was to create a unique and visionary destination, using the heritage of Cork city?s old waterworks to demonstrate Cork's vision of a world of sustainability and sustainable living. The Imagination project team is delighted to receive this Award in recognition of the fruition of that vision".

"Social responsibility and engagement in sustainable development have become an important part of contemporary business", said Jim Barry, Group Chief Executive of NTR plc, the main private sponsor of Lifetime Lab. "NTR plc is proud to be associated with this project which is invaluable in terms of demonstrating and educating on how sustainability can be realised".
