Education Officers are provided at Lifetime Lab by virtue of a unique partnership between Cork City Council and the Primary Curriculum Support Programme, a Department of Education and Science initiative to provide support for teachers in implementing the Primary School Curriculum. From mid September Primary School classes will be able to visit the Schools Resource Centre to take part in activity-based workshops linked to the primary science curriculum. Aimed at 3rd to 6th class pupils, the workshops will be run by a qualified teacher. Children will enjoy the practical, hands on activities that are a central part of all workshops and which help interest children in science in a fun and interactive way.

A spokesperson for De Puy Ireland Limited, which is part of the Johnson and Johnson family of Companies in Ireland, Allana Brown stated “DePuy Ireland are delighted to be involved in promoting Science in the classroom, and are very proud of this association with the Lifetime Lab…it is as part of our philosophy for educating for the future that De Puy Ireland provided sponsorship towards this very important and worthwhile initiative.” DePuy is a leader in the manufacture of orthopaedic joint replacements and neuro-surgical products. At our Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain facility in Ringaskiddy, we now employ 650 high calibre team members in the manufacture and distribution of orthopaedic hips and knees.
