To celebrate the International Year of Chemistry, Lifetime Lab in collaboration with MSD, Pharmachemical Ireland and Cork Institute of Technology will bring some of the wonders of chemistry to primary school children this October.

“Chemistry its Elementary” is a demonstration lecture with the underlying objective to introduce primary school pupils to the elements - the building blocks of our universe. Starting with Hydrogen and finishing with Calcium, It’s Elementary; a child friendly demonstration with lots of activity and interaction offers an introduction to the periodic table and its first 20 elements; where they are found, quirky things they do.

There will be lots of experiments demonstrated and information about the elements, their properties, their occurrence, and their uses. Many of the experiments will be suitable for the students to repeat in class.

Thanks to the generous support of MSD and Pharmachemical Ireland we are also in a position to offer subsidised bus transport to schools wishing to attend. Lifetime Lab will arrange a shuttle bus service from your school to the event and return.

The series of colourful chemistry shows will take place over 2 days at Cork Institute of Technology on Thursday 20th October and Friday 21st October available to 5th + 6th class pupils
