Water Heritage Day Sunday August 26th
Key Event Information
As a special event for Heritage Week on Sunday 26th August, the team at the Old Cork Waterworks Experience is offering “Water Heritage Open Day” a day filled with fun water themed activities with volunteers on hand to help visitors to learn about the role of water in our environment, its use for recreation, importance to wildlife and the need for conservation. Family fun activities include a puppet show, make & do, “Explorers” marine science and a water science zone.
Throughout the day visitors may explore and discover how water helped Cork to develop into a modern city and investigate our interactive water, energy and waste exhibits. Guided tours of the impressive Victorian steam engine and boiler rooms and an engineering trail will also be available. Old Cork Waterworks Experience also has a coffee dock, picnic area and children’s playground to explore and enjoy.
