Davis Ducart

Davis Ducart

An architect from Sardinia, Daviso de Arcort was better known in Ireland as Davis Ducart and was professionally active here between 1765 - 1780s. Best known for his design for the beautiful Castletown Cox in Co. Kilkenny and the Custom House, Limerick (known as the Hunt Museum), both built in the 1760s, and the old Mayoralty House in Cork (1767), now part of the Cork Mercy Hospital. Ducart was also responsible for many lesser known buildings, particularly smaller country houses.
